Welcome to the Calgary Farmyard – Where learning and excitement is at the heart of everything we do!
Bring your class for an unforgettable learning adventure! Experience the magic of spring with adorable baby animals or the joy of harvest with pumpkins in the fall! Engaging lessons and hands-on activities complement classroom teachings.
Prepare, experience, and discuss! Our field trips provide hands-on learning with curriculum-based activities, including pre/post trip teacher resources with activity goals, preparation and materials needed, worksheets, and step-by-step instructions.

​Barnyard Animals Lesson (20 mins) - Learn interesting facts about, and meet our barnyard animals

Plant Lifecycles Lesson​ (20 mins)

Spring: Learn about corn life cycles, and plant a corn seed to take home and grow

Fall: Learn about pumpkin lifecycles, and how to pick the perfect pumpkin. Teachers will receive a pumpkin for their classroom

LENGTH OF STAY

Most groups spend the entire school day at the Farmyard, so dress for the weather, bring your lunches and enjoy country fun! Half day programs are welcome too

Choose your own adventure - participate in all three of our staff led activities (animal lesson, plant lifecycles, and tractor ride), or pick and choose depending on your goals and timeline

Schools may book on Fridays, however we do not run staff-lead learning sessions as we are open to the general public. Book on a Friday

$13.95+gst per student (based on a minimum of 20 students)

Groups must be part of a registered school program

Teachers/Chaperones are free at 1:6 ratio (1:4 for preschool and kindergarten classes. 1:1 for students with diverse learning needs)​​
